Abstract

In this paper we have discuss the Health Information Systems (HIS)Strategic Planning Process design for the radiology department of Cook County Hospital. The Strategic Planning Process illustrate the improvement through which a single medical information system can created from dozens of computers networked that makes it possible to significantly improve the efficiency of medical personnel, reduce the amount of paper work. Moreover, because of this it is possible in the shortest time to evaluate each of the services of patient medical data and, consequently, the operational management decisions, to receive and process other information.

Healthcare Strategic planning is systematic in the sense that it is organized and conducted based on a reality understood. Health information systems management in the radiology department of Cook County is the design, analysis, implementation, and support activities related to information systems that focused on health and health data.

Managing information through information technology is a core business process across all industries and the health care industry is particularly positioned to benefit significantly from its potential. Health information systems have a tremendous capacity to improve health and enhance the value of limited health care dollars of health care direct care delivery and delivery support.

Many unique issues and opportunities are influencing the management and development of health information systems, and the health administrator is often the dominant leader. The administrator is relied on to accurately collect and then transforms data into information and knowledge necessary to achieve strategic business goals and objectives.
