Technology is a diverse term which has various concepts embedded in it. Technology signifies the knowledge and usage of crafts and tools, and its effect on any individual or group's ability to adapt, control and implement it to their environment. Technology said to be a consequence of engineering and science, though various technological advances predate these two concepts. Technology can also be defined as use of mechanical objects such as hardware, machines, systems and utensils. New technologies in general may bridge gaps between rich and poor, powerful and powerless, haves and have nots, it may also enhance or hinder access to information in a democracy, in the workplace or broader social or cultural contexts (Bimber, pp. 60).

Since, discussion on technology can be extensive and limitless as it contains a lot of variations and forms, so this paper will restrict to one of widespread and popular technology i.e. Internet. Internet or more commonly known as World Wide Web is a huge network of computer systems that link world's individuals, institutions, and businesses. The computers that combine together, to form Internet ranges from PCs used by normal users to Mainframes used for Research purposes. Worldwide there has been a huge explosion in the adoption and use of the internet. Internet has caused significant influences on the way we work, make payments, shop, socialize, travel, in quick internet has digitalized our world. Internet has affected people's lives in every possible. This paper will now present how internet has affected individual and group's lifestyles sociologically, physiologically and psychologically.

Internet is a tool that offers many advantages attributed to education, commerce, entertainment and ultimately for the development of individuals. Internet has made life easier for many because of the conveniences it offers. However, Internet also attributed to destructive properties. The internet has reduced the social circle, affected the psychological well being, displaced social activity and replaced the stronger ties for weaker ones. The friendships created through internet network appear to be more limited than those backed by physical proximity. In recent years, evidence of negative consequences related to Internet use has led individual authors to propose the existence of Internet addiction disorder similar to the problems encountered with other addictive behaviors (gambling, sex etc) (Cooper, pp. 184).

One of the most damaging consequences of the Internet addiction is that it weakens the social ties among family. The sociological problem of our age is weak social bonds. Unfortunately, some technological innovations, especially the Internet and television as well, have an influence on alienation from family. Spending over much time with the Internet may restrain one from other fields of life. Furthermore, Internet addiction may lead to lose in the ability of distinguishing reality from fantasy. Because of this reason, they will begin to turn a blind eye to what is happening around them, and thereafter, be faced with a lot of problems concerning their social life.
