Abstract

Leadership theories are continuously being developed as psychologists begin to better understand the factors that help develop effective leaders. The development of organizational culture has led to a development of leadership styles that incorporate essence from several styles in order to develop the most suitable qualities. I today's dynamic world, it is essential for leaders to stay updated regarding the organizations culture so that they could effectively lead their team

This paper will analyze the various leadership styles and link them with organizational culture so that their impact on the organization can be determined. Since it is a fact that the type of leadership style and the organizational culture shape the organization, learning more about this link is essential.

The leadership styles of certain significant leaders would be assessed in order to determine the essential characteristics of their leadership style that made them successful. This is being done in order to get an insight in to the forces that tend to mould the nature of leaders. This paper would also set to establish the reason every leadership style has gained success.

Essence of Leadership

Introduction

Organizational culture and leadership are two different aspects of organizations but there is a major link in between them. There are many types of leaders and although people ask which type of leadership is the best, there is no answer to this question. The reason is that the nature of leaders is a result of the organizational culture of the organization. This shows that leaders need to adjust the way they lead employees when they decide to switch organizations.

The nature of the leader and the organizational culture determines whether there would be any room for improvement and innovation. Some cultures are against innovation due to issues such as job security; however, if the culture permits, the leader can transform the organization with the help of the employees. The role of the leader and that of the culture cannot be ignored because it helps develop the beliefs, norms, and values.

Literature Review

The concept of leadership has existed since early days but significant efforts into forming concepts and theories regarding leadership began around the 16th century and picked up pace in the late 18th century.
