Introduction

The Life Styles Inventory assessment is an exercise to evaluate one's self with respect to the several behavioral and philosophical outlooks of that person (Lafferty, J.C., 1989). This evaluation gives one a chance to assess their selves versus twelve unique patterns lying under three crux domains of evaluation that are; the “Constructive Styles” including Humanistic-Encouraging, Affiliative, Achievement and Self-Actualizing attributes; the “Passive/Defensive Styles” including Approval, Conventional, Dependent and Avoidance attributes; and lastly the “Aggressive/Defensive styles” including Oppositional, Power, Competitive and Perfectionistic characteristics (Human Synergistic International., 1987).

The LSI Circumplex Results

The outcomes form the LSI evaluation that I took, reflect my strengths and weaknesses and also suggest me the ways to improve in the areas I lack behind, that would allow me to execute a plan for self improvement and endow myself productively in my personal as well as my professional routines.

Primary Style - Humanistic-Encouraging

The Humanistic-Encouraging style represents those persons who believe in helping others to achieve the tasks they're motivated for, by granting an inspiring and convivial atmosphere which eventually prompts them to improve and enhance their self capabilities; having an positive reception of others' potencies, and are dedicated and considerate to others' needs. This is illustrated by being positive about others, being genuine in prospecting about others, being an effective listener, and also deeming to assist others in improving, guide them or encourage their endeavors (Myers Briggs., 2011). According to this description, I fit in this area absolutely, for my personal as well as professional routines.

As an example, I survived to work as a senior human resources supervisor in the Army, administering junior soldiers and taking care of personnel records inputting data and various other leaderships for twenty-seven years; just for the reason that I encouraged the young soldiers to freely express in case of any issues, obtained ways of resolution of their issues. This further made me feel, the impression of self-actualization when I succeeded to guide them by responding effectively to their queries, lead them to the appropriate ways. The chief traits of a Humanistic Encouraging supervisor are to have trust and buoyancy in their personnel and having a realization to enhance their skills, ultimately stimulating them accomplish their objectives; I therefore, fulfill to be under this particular area as per my job role.

Backup Style - Affilative

The Affiliative style is represents those persons looking for, preserving and realizing the value of close relations with people belonging to their family, personal life or business. They are outgoing, communicate their feelings and sentiments confidently and egg on others by means of their sincerity and affection. An Affiliative styled leader tends to sponsor concord amongst the personnel and guides them through the conflicts they encounter. I have no doubts about being affiliative in nature as I have always been helpful to others and directing them to the most suitable means of accomplishing a task (Myers-Briggs, I., 1989).
