Introduction

The paper is designed to portray a critical analysis of the movie “Mrs. Doubtfire”, directed by Chris Columbus. Mrs. Doubtfire is an American comedy movie of 1993, who is grounded on the novel of Alias Madame Doubtfire written by Anne Fine. The role of Daniel Hillard and also Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire are performed by Robin Williams and Miranda Hillard is by Sally Field. I am assigned to analyze the movie by employing the devices of sociological approaches to sexuality. In the last two decades, postmodernism and social constructionism have been the most famous approaches to the study of human sexuality. However, the sexual behavior is doubtlessly influenced by social aspects, since it changes in several ways. There is such a consistently and regularity in few forms of sexual behavior across time and space, which should be powerfully grounded in our biological nature. Movie Summary

The movie Mrs. Doubtfire is the story of a father, Daniel Hillard who loses his acting job and after other bad experiences, his wife Miranda decides to get divorced from him. In the first custody, the court judges decides to grant children to Miranda, because Daniel has no job and not even he has place to live; therefore, they only allowed unsupervised visit on Saturday evenings. Thus, after seeing the intense devotion of Daniel for his children, Judges agree on the joint custody if in case Daniel gains a suitable job and house within 3 months. Daniel thought that Miranda must need a child care woman for her kids; therefore, he decided to become an English nanny, Mrs. Doubtfire so he could get the custody and close to his children. Initially, children struggle to make themselves comfortable with the strict rules of Mrs. Doubtfire's, while Miranda rapidly attaches "her". Later on, children favorably react with Mrs. Doubtfire's regulations and Daniel has learned to cook favorite dishes of children. Christopher was the man who accidently found the true identity of Mrs. Doubtfire, when he discovers “her” urinating while standing. Lydia and Chris agree to keep it secret of Daniel and to hide this fact from Natalie and Miranda. This movie is funny in nature and it holds certain characteristics of foul language, sexual representation and disrespects the words of advice in Deuteronomy22:5: : "A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this”.

Critical Analysis

The movie Mrs. Doubtfire reflects the compulsion of a father to hold the mask of another sex that was against his manly patterns. Daniel (Willaim) is one of the most famous actors of his times, this hilarious composition is grateful to watch for analyzing the sociological approaches of sexuality.
