Abstract

Nurses are highly educated, skilled practitioners of the art and science of nursing who contribute to individual and community health and well being, the domestic economy, and the reproduction of community values. Despite this, nurses continue to be variously misrepresented in the popular media and on the Internet as angels of mercy, doctors' handmaidens, glorified waitresses, and “naughty girls.” Nursing as care work and individual and collective identity illustrate well the gendered, classed, and raced meanings of women's lives. In this paper we try of focus on the Registered Nurses in the Public School District in which I reside. The paper discuss about the Model and Organizational Process. The paper also explains Recommendations for Quality Improvement. For quality Improvement the paper will answer the following questions that will be 1. What the improvement (Registered Nurses in the Kearney Public School District) is and how it is supported by the evidence. 2. Who will be impacted 3.When the project should be implemented 4. How the initiation of change will be received and how it will be addressed.5. Process for Implementation -What is your plan for implementation -What considerations need to be taken into account? Introduction

Health care and health policy were major platform issues in the 2008 presidential election and have remained an area of national focus. Health can be influenced by social determinants such as housing, education, socioeconomic status, and the environment, which are determined, in part, by public policy. Health can also be influenced by the availability of cost effective, accessible health care provided in a high quality way. Health care arenas are influenced, in part, by health policy. Effective policy requires an informed and active citizenry able and willing to participate in the policy making process. Professionals providing health education and health care are in a unique position to provide input into the policy process, particularly as it applies to health policy. Examples of professionals who should be involved in such processes include health educators, registered nurses, physicians, and public health practitioners.

Background

Over time and in response to health-sector demands, the scope of nurses' work increased, as has the knowledge and skills required to competently fulfil those duties. Today, nurses operate on many rungs of the professional ladder. Each step requires additional educational preparation beyond the minimum entry to practice, which in turn qualifies a nurse to engage in a wider scope of practice and in a wider variety of practice settings. Along with this added responsibility and accountability come greater autonomy and control over work and decision making; improved wages and career mobility; and greater social, economic, and political power. Depending on the country or state, a practical nurse or nursing assistant may require a few months to two years of preparation in an approved program to acquire the basic knowledge and skills deemed necessary to perform competently.
