Sampling

The population is classified into groups (strata). This is to ensure that all levels of interest are properly collected and therefore represented in the partition. From a probabilistic point of view, it is considered that there are much defined subpopulations within the population where the distribution of the variable being analyzed experiences variations (Etoré, & Jourdain, 2010).

Each layer operates independently of others. Therefore, simple random samples for each of the strata will be selected. The distribution of the sample according to the different strata is called affixation.
