Technological advances have been on the rise at a tremendous rate. In the world of today, it is impossible to survive without interacting with some technology at any given point. Technological advancements have been introduced to make life easier and manageable. Cell phones and the Internet have improved the quality of life as communication, information, education, and learning processes are more effective and informative as they were before. It simply means that the world has become integrated economically, socially, politically, professionally and culturally through the advances of cell phones and the Internet technologies.

Discussion

Cell phones and the Internet have made the society more unified. By using cell phones and the Internet, it is possible to stay in touch regardless of one's geographical location. Family, friends and business partners have stayed in touch over the years without necessarily being close to each other. In the past, people would spend a lot of money and time physically travelling to locations for meetings. The emergence of cell phones and the Internet enabled individuals to save time and money. Meetings and discussions can now be done in the comfort of one's home or office (Reynolds, 2009). National, as well as international issues can be discussed and solved in minutes by use of cell phones and the Internet technology such as video conferencing. Because of cell phones and the Internet our earth has attained the form of a global village (Goggin, 2006).
