Normalcy

Definition of normality is from a sociological perspective (sociology) as the self-evident in a society has to be declared no more, and no more about the decision must be madeknown. This obviously concerns the social norms and concrete behavior of people. It is through education and socialization. It provides security guarantees (competence) between the people of a society (subculture). Social behavior that corresponds to the notion of normality (not deviant behavior) accepted by society only limited (conflict), and not normally tolerated (crime).

The balance between normal and deviant behavior according to the policies of social conditions (layer) is each specifically designed. To provide social workers and social workers contribute their expertise, for example, with the information to parents that deviant behavior in youth age is a common phenomenon and can be seen as an expression of the developmental problems of adolescents (Ohgaard, 2008). The notion of normality based either on an ideal, a desirable state, on average, or in individual cases as to the appropriateness. Accordingly, one has to do with different standards:

1. Ideal norm - for example, also for disabled people, it is normal to have my own apartment;

2. Statistical norm - for example, Almost all people leave home and live independently;

Yet the drastically changing patterns of our family, which can presume, a number of varied configurations thorough out the life span and these patterns are forcing us to take a broader view of both normalcy and development (Walsh, 2003).

Three modes of family process assessment

Three theoretical models allow the detection and description of favorable and less favorable patterns of family relationships and structures by external observers and self-reports of family members:

1. The "Circumplex Model of Marital and Family Systems"

2. The "Beavers Systems Model" (Beavers et al. 1990), and

3. The "McMaster Model of Family Functioning"

The three models and their analysis tools described in this section.
