Introduction

The paper aims to investigate the comparison between introvert and extrovert and find the results of their satisfaction and happiness. Introvert and extroverts are personality trait and before describing it it become significant to understand the personality. Personality means the quality or the state of an individual. Personalities are what describe individuals as a person. Carl Jung developed the theory that each individual have a psychological type. Jung believes that there are two basic kinds of functions that individuals use in their life, these functions are, how we take in information and how we make decisions. We can take in information by our senses, and by our intuition. We can make decisions based on objective logic or subjective feelings. Jung believes that the dominant function is the function mostly used by individuals. The eight personality types that Jung defined are: Extroverted sensing introverted sensing, extroverted intuition, introverted intuition, extroverted thinking, introverted thinking, extroverted feeling, and introverted feeling (BSM Consulting Incorporation, 2011).

The paper will just focus on the two major personality's extrovert and introvert personality.

Discussion

Extroversion and introversion are related to the tendency of people to different types of activities and interests. The extroverts are characterized by sociability, need for excitement and change, act upon, and are usually impulsive. Furthermore, they tend to be optimistic and lovers of good humor (Helgoe, 2008). They also tend to be aggressive in the sense of having low frustration tolerance and poor control of their feelings. The typical extravert is sociable, likes meetings, has many friends, needs people with whom to talk and do not like reading or working alone, looking for excitement, takes risks, makes projects and driving impulse of the moment has always ready a rapid and generally likes change, is carefree, optimistic and tends to laugh and live happy, this person prefers the movement and action (Brebner, 1998).

On the other hand, the introverts prefer solo activities with people, as intellectual activities or books. They tend to plan things and distrustful of impulses. They take their activities seriously, lead an orderly life and keep their feelings controlled. They are rarely aggressive and tend to lose control easily (Hathaway, 1998). They do not need others to be happy, try to understand situations with more interest than extraverts and more reflective. Introverts are quiet people, shy, introspective, reserved and distant, except with close friends (introverts place high value to their close friends). They tend to be proactive, think before committing and distrustful of impulses of the moment. They do not like thrills and prefer living an ordered life, with closely controlled feelings, and rarely getting aggressive (Gough, 2000). They are a bit pessimistic, and place great value to ethical standards. They are people whom others can rely on.

Given the nature of the personality of individuals, both introverts and extroverts subjects, they will avoid the contexts, situations and circumstances that go against the gradient of their personalities.
