Introduction

Human health and wellbeing has always been the most essential and important concern of the relevant professional and all measures are taken to ensure that the civilians are provided with ideal health facilities. Thus, in order to avoid any such situation and to make sure that the essential and sensitive profession of nursing and midwifery is well regulated and properly controlled, the Nursing and Midwifery Council has been established, which is the largest regulatory body of the healthcare professionals, with more than 660, 000 registered midwives and nurses and has been playing its part in the regulation and development of the profession since a number of years.
