Legal instruments impacting on staff recruitment and selection

Staff recruitment and selection is a detailed and lengthy process. Recruitment involves the basic steps of attracting and screening of employee. Recruitment is considered as the first step towards fulfilling an organization's need for having more human resource. Recruitment process is very different from selection and employment processes. However, it is the first step of the whole employment process. Selection is the next process, after recruitment. Selection involves finding the best employees out of the ones recruited. There are many internal and external factors affecting the recruitment and selection processes in an organization. One of the external factors affecting the recruitment process is the impact of legal instruments. Legal instruments are the set of regulations in a country's constitution. The regulations are considered as binding and act as directives for the citizens of that country. Other external factors include political, social and economic conditions of a country. There are several chances of legal risks if, the company failed to obtain and gain required data and knowledge about the staff recruited. Therefore, the hiring committee must ensure to gather greatest possible amount of the relevant data of the staff recruited.
