Introduction

Digital technology is very important in our daily lives, because it makes everything easier. Especially from my point of view, digital technology helped make my research paper a lot easier. It also saved a lot of time from going back and forth to library. We are surrounded by digital technology. To this extent of digital technology drove daily life has led historians to characterize today's world as a “digital world”. Computer technology has made our lives much easier and convenient. Now we have email and live chat or even voice messages. Today we have video calls which would be able to see the person you are talking about. This would be great for people who have loved ones who are away from home.

Now people onboard naval ships are able to talk to friends and family and conduct business on a daily basis. We as a society have advanced greatly since the digital era, but there are also negative impacts as well. We now have the freedom to surf the web for information, reach out to friends and family for communication, through email, and using the computer for online courses. The disadvantage is that kids and even adults can become addictive to the computer, fall prey to child pornography, and criminals are using the new technology to steal people personal information (West 2011).

We all benefit from the digital era. The internet has given us enormous wealth of information. I personally use the internet to shop for parts; I had a problem with one of my car, and the part that I needed was very expensive from the dealer, and half the price from local part stores, but while surfing the internet I found it for less than half the list price. I use internet sometimes to watch certain game that I can't get on television. One of many web site that I like is you tube, you can watch short clips about anything that you are interested in.

Internet is wide spread; people use their computers like they watch television anywhere from 6 or more hours a day. I've know people that were addicted to different chat room, they would go there to socialize. Some would rust home just to get on the internet. This much addiction makes is not a good thing for people as it can result in various consequences. Moreover, Excessive video game playing can have a negative effect in young kids; too much time at a computer can cause them to miss out on other activities. They don't get the physical excise that they need, causing some to become unhealthy. They miss out on making friends and relationship. Some even develop bad habits that are difficult to change as they get older. Many Children are victims of the internet crimes it does happen more often than not.
