The Leadership Self-Assessment

Personal Mission Statement

I have been a teacher for the past eight years and I would love to be embedded in the teaching spectrum in the future also because of the enthusiasm, learning and prestige associated with the prophetic profession of teaching. I have always acknowledged the fact that effective teaching is highly conditioned with effective leadership. That is why I want to expand and flourish my leadership skills so that I can integrate a fine blend of teaching and leadership in my role as a teacher leader. I really want to be a motivational educator for my pupil rather than being a passive preacher so that my students can widen their vision and sustain their capabilities under my kind guidance. I would love to make my students explore the world and finding the dimensions that are compatible with the natural attributes bestowed upon them. I would always consider my every student as an individual whole so that I can enrich him with knowledge in a way that is well-suited to his mental approach and learning capacity. I would modify their behaviors to become more disciplined and organized for enhancing the potential of their success.

My main motivation for becoming a teacher leader is guided by the fact that an effective teacher is not supposed to just acquaint his students with sufficient information about the academic subjects. Rather he is equally responsible to clarify their confusions regarding the various universal and social dilemmas so that they can succeed in their lives with clear mental frameworks. I strongly believe that an ideal teacher extends drastic support to his students without showing any favoritism on the basis of racial, gender and lingual discriminations. I feel it really inspiring to help students in setting and constructive goals in their lives that would trigger their navigation towards successful. Leadership Characteristics

A teacher leader must have clear understanding about what he knows and what he doesn't know to avoid the nuisance created by overconfidence over self knowledge. For example, if a student asks a question that you are unable to answer, then openly accept that you would research to answer it appropriately rather than addressing the query with wrong response to avoid timely embarrassment.

An effective leader must also possess a great deal of self-control ...
